I get it.
Some of us don’t have the luxury to spend 100 plus dollars at Mad Hippie for aesthetically pleasing vegan skin care.
Being a college student, who’s usually always on a budget, my life is made up of finding quality but affordable cruelty-free skincare products. After seven years of being vegan, I’ve tried out a few different vegan skincare brands that I think are worthy of sharing (and will save you a pretty penny in the long run):
TeaTree Oil Facial Wash – $14.00
I mentioned this face wash two years ago in a blog post and I stand by my initial claim: Body Shop’s tea tree oil facial wash not only smells good but it’s also soothing to the skin.
The price ranges depending on what size you get. I usually get the 8.4 fl oz. bottle which rings for $14.00.
You can order this product online or find it at your local Ulta.
Turmeric Face Mask – $12.00
Formerly known as Hippy Heart Naturals, Soul Blossom Beauty is a small etsy shop that makes natural products ranging from skincare to bodycare.
I first ordered from them in June of 2020 and have been back three times after that to order this turmeric mask (alongside some festive body soap).
At the moment, the owner does not have the Turmeric face mask in stock, but I would definitely stay on the lookout for the restock. In the meantime, here’s some of their other face masks.
Face wash with Tea Tree oil – $10
After seeing one of my favorite youtubers skincare routine using cruelty-free products from Trader Joe’s, I made a mental note to try them out once I ran out of my Starface Space wash and so far, I’m vibing with the face wash.
My only complaint is the smell and texture throws me off, but it’s nothing I can’t get used to (especially for the unbeatable price and proximity of my local Trader Joe’s).
Anti-oxidant facial moisturizer – $10
Another goodie from Trader Joe’s is their “Nourish” facial moisturizer. There’s nothing too extravagant about this moisturizer, but it gets the job done.
Starface Space wash – $11
Here’s for all my Target fanatics!
I recently ran out of this facewash and immediately went to Target to buy me another (unfortunately they were out of stock).
This face wash lasted me for a few months and left my skin feeling cleansed (without that unbearable dry feeling).
So far, that is all the wisdom I can bestow to you. I hope to try out new cruelty-free brands soon but until then, check out my veganism page for similar posts.
