Ah, February… the month of love. What better time to talk about the things you’re obsessed with than February? I haven’t been consistent when it comes to our “Monthly Obsessions,” but I wanted to break the hiatus and share what I’ve been loving.
Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi
Diving back into fiction novels last year after swearing off self-help books has been refreshing.
Last month I picked up a book by Yaa Gyasi, and my experience reading her novel Transcendent Kingdom has been a whirlwind because of how much I relate to the struggles the main character Gifty has.
I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m just going to say that if you’re looking for your next read, you’d be crazy not to pick this novel up.
TerraEssentials
So, a few weeks ago I stumbled onto this Instagram page that was promoting plant-based skin and hair care products (and other essentials). After doing a bit of scrolling, I decided to purchase a few products.
I got their Healing Soufflé Whipped Body Butter, Facial Bar, Oat & Honey Facial Masque, and Facial Cream.
I’ve only been using their products for about two weeks now, but I can already feel a difference in the appearance of my skin!
Another thing I love about TerraEssentials is that they are making efforts to be sustainably packaged and shipped.
One on One
I believe in my previous “Monthly Obsessions” post, I mentioned that I was in a 90s/early 2000s sitcom phase. I made my way through Living Single, Family Matters, The Parkers, Girlfriends, Moesha, Sister,Sister, and now I made my way to One on One.
They simply don’t make sitcoms like these anymore, so I’m enjoying revisiting these classics.
“Energy” by Tyla Jane
This song has been on repeat ever since I saw the artist in a Tiktok video singing it.
Coffee Mug
After you see a picture of my new Buddha mug I purchased from Spencers, you’ll understand why I couldn’t possibly pass it up.
That is all for my monthly obsessions for February. I can’t wait to see what March has in store!
